That is because of the indoctrination I have received from childhood days. What is right and wrong before God is not to be judged by one's likes and dislikes but by heartfelt convictions
The great wonder of creation is that no two individuals are alike physically, intellectually, morally, in color, beauty and in hundred other things. To be different is not to be wrong. Otherwise we should blame God who created some with same/sex attraction.
The Irish are said to be more Catholic than the Pope. I lived with them, in India, in Ireland. They knelt down in London's Railway station crown and forced me to bless them when I was a priest. Still as a nation they voted for same sex marriage.
It is precisely about homosexuality, Pope Francis said to questions of journalists in the Plane: "If gay people seek God who am I to judge? That should make us think profoundly, humbly and shamefully like the crowd who left one by one when Jesus said :"Let the one who has not sinned throw the first stone" on the adulterous woman. The same way Jesus dealt with two other women, One at Jacob's well and the other at the house of Simon when she anointed Jesus- feet with perfume. If we want to be Jesus-like we have to be forgiving all the time and give up for good judging any and everyone out of habit.
That is whyPope Francis says the name of our God is "Mercy and he is never, never tired of forgiving. It is we who get tired of asking for forgiveness." You may fall down a thousand times but then you try to get up. That is what we call "asking for forgiveness" and God always forgives, Jesus always did it and Pope Francis wants no one to be a consecrated person, if he wants to judge and punish and not forgive.
Don't we say daily: "Forgive our trespasses as we forgive". Let us try to live that in our daily life with the Lord's help. I don't want to write more than what Zach wrote so brilliantly. So I stop. james kottoor
Zach Nedunkanalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10162122443258727742noreply@blogger.com
