This is in continuation of survey results: 1st of Germany and Swetzerland, 2nd of Australia we published earlier. What follows is the result of the Survey in Latin America, USA and Africa.
This survey was ordered by Pope Francis last October. He ordered bishops of the universal Church to distribute a detailed questionnaire on Challenges facing the family to day to lay people in every parish in all dioceses and collect their views and sent them to Vatican. Our bishops, to my knowledge, have not even informed the faithful in India, about this papal order. It was for this reason I asked Cardinal Alancherry and other Bishops when I met them on last Dec.13th in writing, why no such survey was spoken of even in India. No explanation has been received to date. Nor does the name "India" appear in any of the results published below either. Peter Wilkinson from Australia who wrote to me and whose letter was published earlier here is also shocked to hear why Indian Bishops are keeping mum over it. They may never tell us why, if we are to go by past experience. In any case please read the results of the survey below and form your own conclusions. james Kottoor
