Dear, Dear Bishop Puthur,
A million thanks for your reply which made me burst out: Eurekka. The Lord helped me and you among all have given me a sterling example to prove to my many friends in Almaya and other websites that our bishops are not as bad as some of them make them out to be. Your mail gives me a chance to write more good things about you. Thanks once again. May the New Year 2014 be a glorious one rich in God's Grace and Peace for you.

Dear Dr. James Kottoor,
Thanks you very much for your mail, with a lot of questions regarding the various dimensions of Syro-Malabar Church.I take note of your suggestions for the betterment of the Church life. Personally I will try my best to accept the good proposals. The Synod Bishops of the Syro-Malabar Church has to follow the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches for its deliberations. However, I am sure that what is important is the personal attitude we take to persons and events in our pastoral life. In that regard we are to follow Jesus. That is what Pope Francis is trying to do and asking us to do. I hope that many of us will be inspired his his life and teachings. Thank you for your service to the Church and to the people of God.
With every best wishes for the New Year!
+Bosco Puthur
Dear James,
The questions you raise are relevant and urgent. How about planning a "like-minded" laity gathering, where some such questions can be discussed and an action plan chalked out? I am afraid many bishops are refusing to look at Francis, refusing to listen to what he is saying; that is the only way they can continue as before. Looking at him will disturb them.
Continue the fight and keep up the hope, until you die.
Great.
Joe

The bishops in kerala are well aware of the nees to communicate with laity, answer their questions, remove their apprehensions etc.but they refuse to oblige the laity as they well behave in an autocractic style.Leave alone laity, even the priests have no communication with bishops. In kerala this
situation is a legacy of the Portughese bishops whofollowed a style of colonial arbitrary authority. The attitude of the bishos is "you do what you like.we just dont care"Even latin bishops in kerala are no eception to this. It can welltake over a century to change this mind set unless we have a Kejriwal type amadmi movement.
