ഇത് HOLY FAMILY KNANAYA CATHOLIC CHURCH & KNANAYA CATHOLIC ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA യുടെ ന്യുസ് ലെറ്ററില് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചതാണ് - എഡിറ്റര്

I love my Knanaya Community because of our rich cultural and tradition-al roots. Many of us associate ourselves within the same cultural & faith circle. Same language, coming from same geographical area brings in more attachment to each other. That is why we say “Birds of the same feather fly together”. We feel more at home with such groups. Our Holy Family Church and KCAG definitely unites and brings more happiness in our community. We should not forget our roots and where we come from.
But such togetherness and community circle has its negatives. We do not mix with people outside our community. This isolates our younger generation from the main stream of society. The Children and Young do not get chances to mingle with Americans since most of our social gath-erings are within our Knanaya Community. We do not get opportunities to participate in large general social gatherings of the public. We are out of the general politics, administration, policy makers and are not able to contribute much to the growth of America. We are like a frog inside a well. We do not see and experience the world outside our little Knanaya Community resulting limitations to exhibit our potentialities.
My opinion and suggestion to my fellow Knanaya youth is that our Knanaism is good. We need to maintain our faith, rite, good traditions, Malayalam language, and marry from our community, but, at the same time, give importance to participate & mingle with the general pub-lic activities organized by county, state, and other political parties. It is important that we must involve ourselves to the common activities out-side our Knanaya Community and contribute our share for the growth of our country.
