Jesus Was Really A Revolutionary
Firstly he gave an entire new dimention to the concept of law through his famous quotation Sabath is for man and not man for sabath. Till then the Jews kept the Mosaican law as upreme and held that any law breaker should be severely punished, whatever be the circumstances behind that. He also revolutionalised the concept of prayer by insisting on less words and less sound for prayers.(This is not applicable to the charismatic preachers!). To teach the lesson of social commitment and fraternity he used the parabble of Good Samaritan. Jews were totally prejudiced against the community of Samaritans.
If today Jesus were to come on this earth he would have used the parabble of a 'Good Communist' because the arch enemies of today's arch bishops are Communists. He had amoung his desciples the tax collectors who are despised by the jew community. He drove away the vendors inside the temple shouting that he would not allow his father's house to be a den of thieves. Had he come today he would have driven the bishops and clergy out of the Churches for conducting business there. Jesus had people from all walks of life as his friends - tax collectors, prostitutes, leppers, religious, irreligious atheists and theists. He entertained no prejudice against anyone. According to him the only condition to enter the kingdom of heaven was to feed the hungry to give water to the thirsty, clothes to the naked, homes to the homeless, refuge to the foreigners, nursing to the sick and consolation to the prisoners i.e. fulfilling ones social commitments. No other condition was atached, not even a belief in God.He said God is everybody's father and all human beings are brothers.
He revolutionised the very concepts of politics, legality, spirituality and religiosity. The 2nd Vatican Council adopted the concept of dialogue. This dialogue has 4 dimentions. (1) dialogue within the Catholic Church, (2) dialogue with other Christian faithful, (3) dialogue with all religions and (4) dialogue with atheists. But now our bishops and clergy propagate not the spirit of dialogue but the spirit of hatred. They totally negate the spirit of 'Ecclesiam Suam' the first encyclical of Pope Paul VI. Dear bishops and clergy shed your prejudices. All prejudices are un-Christian.

A good resume´ of the ideal Christian character. Experience, however, shows that with all the dialogues, the parties remain the same in their combating styles. It is because there's more sound in them than reflection (silence to evaluate one's own position). The Catholics are never prepared to give in even in a single point. They just wait and wait till the other party comes down on its knees and accepts the catholic position. So nothing happens even after long waiting.

On Sound and Silence
Silence is primordial
Sound is secondary
The one without the other
Is dead and jeopardy.
Silence was already there long
Before sound had its origin
If absence of light is darkness
Absence of sound is not silence.
It sounded when energy exploded
Meant yet no communication
Which only started with life, but
Along with it came ambition.
Ambition having its way led to pride
Sound assuming an air of arrogance.
Once pride with arrogance combined
What got conveyed was irrelevance.
What was said had to be heard
Listening was to follow sound
Otherwise to madness all that lead
Making weird noises like a hound
Silence, then, is a prerequisite
If one is to hear at all anything
And get a meaning out of it -
Otherwise it only is annoying.
Every meaning has to come out
From the innermost of a word spun
In the realm of silence absolute
By a soul that knows to hum
Communication can mean joy
But wanting to say too much
Leads to heaviness and turmoil
For silence we begin the search.
Love blossoms out in every soul
That knows itself as not apart
From the divine that ever abides
At the core of every living heart.
And it nourishes itself and grows
So long it drinks from the fullness
Of the divine, that fills and knows
To be a mother of benevolence
Casting anchor in the ocean of silence
In blissful union fully immersed
The soul loathes now every noice
Whence nothing good can flourish.
God is only heard when the soul
Deceived by the hectic of activity
Yearns for him, its source and goal
Realizing its own pain in duality
Activity is nothing but vain illusion
Of the imperfect life, all in all
Connected with the mind’s delusion
To impress equals as unequal
True knowledge brings the soul
To itself and to the sheer futility
Of actions, beckoning it back
To the joy of everlasting rest.
Until then in solitude it moans:

ReplyDeleteകമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ്കാര്‍ യേശു ഒരു കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റാണെന്ന്പറയുമ്പോള്‍ പുരോഹിതരെ വിരളിപിടിപ്പിക്കും. സ്വതന്ത്രമായ സാമ്പത്തികശാസ്ത്രത്തെ സഭ എതിര്‍ക്കുന്നു. സാമ്പത്തിക അടിസ്ഥാനതത്വങ്ങളില്‍ സോഷ്യലിസവും കമ്മ്യൂണിസവും, ദാരിദ്ര്യം വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് സഭ വാദിക്കുന്നു. സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റു രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളില്‍ സാമ്പത്തിക അസമത്വങ്ങള്‍ കഠിനമായി കാണുന്നതും അതിനു ഉദാഹരണമാണ്. യൂറോപ്പും ഇറ്റലിയും സാമ്പത്തിക അടിമത്വം ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങിയതും സോഷ്യലിസത്തിന്‍റെ പരാജയമായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.
എങ്കിലും ഒരു ചോദ്യം ഇവിടെ ഉയരുന്നു. സഭ ക്യാപ്പിറ്റലിസത്തെ അനുകൂലിക്കുന്നത് ബൈബിളിന്‍റെ അടിസ്ഥാന തത്വങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് എതിരല്ലേ?
ധനികന്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗരാജ്യത്തിനു അവകാശിയല്ലെന്നാണ് യേശു പഠിപ്പിച്ചത്. ധനികന്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗരാജ്യത്തില്‍ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത് ഒട്ടകം സൂചികുഴലില്‍ കൂടി കടക്കുന്നതിലും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടാണെന്നാണ് യേശുവിന്‍റെ സാമ്പത്തികസിദ്ധാന്തം.
ആദിസഭയില്‍ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മയില്‍ അവര്‍ തുല്യരായിരുന്നു. തുല്യമായി അപ്പങ്ങള്‍ പങ്കുവെച്ചു പ്രാര്‍ഥനകളുമായി ഒരു സോഷ്യലിസ്റ്റു വിഭാവനലോകത്തിലായിരുന്നു അപ്പോസ്തോലന്മാര്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞു കൂടിയിരുന്നത്. എല്ലാ വിശ്വാസികളും ഒത്തൊരുമിച്ചു സ്വത്തുക്കള്‍ തുല്യമായി പങ്കുവെച്ചു. ദരിദ്രര്‍ക്ക് ദാനം
ചെയ്യുവാന്‍ അവരുടെ കൈവശമുള്ളതെല്ലാം വിറ്റു. ദേവാലയ പരിസരങ്ങളില്‍ സമ്മേളിച്ചു തുല്യമായി അപ്പങ്ങള്‍ മുറിച്ചു പാവങ്ങള്‍ക്കും നല്‍കി സന്തോഷത്തോടെയും പൂര്‍ണ്ണമനസ്സോടെയും ആത്മാര്‍ത്ഥമായ ഹൃദയ വികാരങ്ങളോടെയും അവര്‍ ജീവിച്ചു.
പില്‍ക്കാലത്ത് യേശുവിന്‍റെ ഈ കമ്മ്യൂണിസ്റ്റ് അനുയായികള്‍ ഭൂഉടമകള്‍, രാജാക്കന്മാര്‍, മന്ത്രിമാര്‍ എല്ലാം ആയി. റോമ്മാ സാമ്രാജ്യവും വത്തിക്കാന്‍ കൊട്ടാരവും കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയതോടെ യേശുവിനെ ഒരു ക്യാപ്പിറ്റലിസ്സ്റ്റുമാക്കി. ഇന്നു ആ തച്ചന്‍റെ അനുയായികള്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടത് കോഴ, കൈക്കൂലി, പെണ്ണ്, മദ്യം എന്നിവകളും.
Here the author is confused about dialogue and sacrilege. No CPM leader has ever come forward for a meaningful dialogue with christian community. Let them first discard Das Capital and accept Bible. They resorted to sacrilege of christian icons. Marxists believe that "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun". A revolution is commonly understood to be an event which seeks to overthrow one political order in society and replace it with another. How can you equate this form of revolution with the teachings of Christ? John 18:36 says His kingdom is not of this world. It is cruel to call Jesus a revolutionary like Cheguvera, Mao, Stalin etc who propagated blood shed.
ReplyDeleteMr.(not dr!!!) Skylark, pls refer a dictionary for meaning of revolution. More over, most of the Popes and bishops are worse than the communist leaders. Haven't u heard about Inquisition? during that period torturing and killing were routine. At least u have to read 'Thirusabhaacharithram' by Rev.Dr. Xavier Koodappuzha, former professor at Vadavaathoor Seminary. What about crusades? U may argue that those were for 'God'. Shame on u! In World War II Catholic church was in support of Hitler. Now a days many bishops and priests have their own 'goonda' squad to handle opposition groups. U have no right to utter the word Jesus.
