Recycling Priests – a beautiful phrase, and a common thing for Kerala Catholics.
How many of them are transferred following serious allegation of immorality, molestation, rape and other criminal offences. Our church authorities sincerely believe they can get away with it, for ever and ever.
They better read the following editorial of New York Times dated 20th October 2011.
"It has been seven years since the Roman Catholic Church’s investigative board of laity warned that, beyond the 700 priests dismissed for sexually abusing children, “there must be consequences” for the diocesan leaders who recycled criminal priests through unsuspecting parishes. American church authorities have done nothing to heed this caution......"

ReplyDeleteഎന്റെ ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ ഒരു നല്ല മനുഷ്യന്‍ കാരിത്താസ് ആശുപത്രിയില്‍ പാലിയേറ്റിവ് കെയറില്‍ കിടക്കുന്നു. സ്വാസകോശത്തില്‍ ക്യാന്‍സര്‍ കണ്ടുപിടിച്ചത് വളരെ വൈകിയാണ്. ആ അവസ്ഥയില്‍ രോഗിക്കു രക്ഷ പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുക അനുഭവജ്ഞാനമുള്ള ഒരു വൈദ്യനും ചെയ്യാനാവില്ല. എന്നിട്ടും ആ പാവത്തിനെ കെമോതെരപ്പിയും റേഡിയേഷനും ഒക്കെയായി ഒത്തിരി കഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തി. ഒരത്ഭുതത്തില്‍ വിശ്വസിപ്പിച്ച് കുറേ നാള്‍ അങ്ങോട്ടുമിങ്ങോട്ടും ഓടിച്ചു. ഭാര്യയും മക്കളും നരകിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവസാനം, ഇനി കളിയൊന്നും നടക്കില്ലെന്നായപ്പോള്‍, കൊണ്ടുപോയ്ക്കോളൂ എന്നുത്തരവായി. വേദന ഒരല്പം കുറയുമെങ്കില്‍....എന്ന് മാത്രമാണ് എല്ലാവരുടെയും ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ഒരേയൊരാഗ്രഹം.
അലെക്സിന്റെ ഈ പോസ്റ്റിങ്ങ്‌ കണ്ടപ്പോള്‍ എനിക്ക് മനസ്സില്‍ പതിയുന്നത്, എന്റെ ഈ അയാള്‍ക്കാരനെപ്പോലെ, അവസാന ശ്വാസം ഒന്ന് പോയിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ എന്നാശിച്ച്, മരണത്തെ കാത്തുകിടക്കുന്ന കത്തോലിക്കാസഭയെന്ന രോഗിയുടെ ദയനീയാവസ്ഥയാണ്.
ആരോഗ്യമുള്ള, ധാരാളം മക്കളെ പെറ്റും പോറ്റിയും പ്രസരിച്ചു നടന്നിരുന്ന ഒരു തരുണിയുടെ താറുമാറാക്കപ്പെട്ട ആരോഗ്യം. മരണം സുനിശ്ചിതമായ അവസ്ഥ. അവയവങ്ങള്‍ ഓരോന്നോരോന്നായി നിഷ്ക്രിയമാകുന്നു. അവള്‍ വേദനയില്‍ പുളയുന്നു. അവളെ സ്നേഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് മക്കളെല്ലാം അടുത്തുണ്ട്. ആര്‍ക്കും ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാനിനി ബാക്കിയില്ല.
അധികാരശ്രേണിയിലും വൈദികരിലും പടര്‍ന്നുപിടിച്ച മൂല്യച്യുതിയും ലൈംഗികാരാജകത്വവുമാണ് അവളെ മരണാസന്നയാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന ക്യാന്‍സര്‍. ചികിത്സ താമസിച്ചുപോയി.
Sex is nature's call, just as defecating or urinating. How can it be checked! More over the clerics even the monks lead a luxury life having cocktails & modern communication facilities.Trying to lead an unnatural life is the basic problem.So, Catholic priests must be allowed to lead a normal life having the other sex.It must not be through the back doors. Trespassing convents or abusing children or allowing co life in mission stations are all perversions.The clerics especially the bishops spend huge amounts unquestioned or unaccountable to manipulate such deeds and crimes.It is deplorable that some members of our community are either promoting or tolerating such clerics. They often act as pimps to such criminals by offering even their own family members. All these create the misery. The community must be more alert and act visibly and legally to avert such situations.
ReplyDeleteFlash- KCBC is planing to build a metro at Thiruvananthapuram spending Rs. 1321 crores ! I'm afraid that Our political leaders without backbone will permit it. As Potta is a small eg,imagine the happenings in that 'Vatican'?!
