The scandals that have rocked the Church in recent years are taking their toll in the USA, with as many as two million quitting, according to claims in a new report.

3% of U.S. Catholics have left the Church because of the paedophile priest scandal, according to a study conducted by Daniel M. Hungerman for the University of Notre Dame. And those who benefit the most from this crisis in American Catholicism is the Baptist denomination.
Guido Mocellin, in the magazine of the Dehonian Fathers “Il Regno” warned of a “credibility crisis” in the U.S. Church. The fault is above all in the line of omissive conduct applied by the episcopate before the “Zero Tolerance” rule imposed by Benedict XVI.
For years, the American bishops have, in fact, tried to cover guilty priests by dealing with the compensation of victims outside the courtroom, instead of reporting all cases they became aware of, to the legal authorities and instead of removing the accused from their pastoral duties.
The public admission made by bishops of their previous failure or inadequacy in the face of sexual violence against minors committed by priests, came too late.
I am giving one reason, just one reason only, why Catholics are leaving the Church. Last July the Los Angeles archdiocese announced a settlement of sexual abuse lawsuits agreeing to pay more than 500 alleged victims a total of $660 million. Every body knows that the victims who suffered in silence for decades the financial compensation is inadequate. Recently retired Cardinal Roger Mahony, the archbishop of L.A. for over 16 years should be in jail. That is the right settlement for those victims. Because this archbishop didn't take any meaningful actions against these paedophile priests. Instead he was transferring them from parish to parish allowing them again to abuse children. Mahony apologised! Big Deal!! No wonder the Catholics are leaving the Church. (Please read my book 'Laingikathayum Paurohithyavum' for more details.

ബൈബിള്‍തുരുപ്പിറക്കി കളിക്കുകയെന്നതാണ് ഈ കള്ളകളിക്കാരുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം. അതില്‍ ഈ കള്ളന്മാര്‍ വിജയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. പിശാചുബാധ ഒഴിപ്പിക്കുക , രോഗികളെ സൌഖ്യപ്പെടുത്തുക, കത്തോലിക്കരുടെ അന്ധവിശ്വാസങ്ങള്‍, പോപ്പിന്‍റെ അപ്രമാദിത്വം ഇവര്‍ തൊണ്ണപൊട്ടുംപോലെ ഉച്ചത്തില്‍വിളിച്ചു ആളെകൂട്ടും. കാലാകാലമായി വൈദികരാല്‍ അടിച്ചമര്‍ത്തപ്പെട്ട കത്തോലിക്കാ വിശ്വാസികളുടെ ദുര്‍ബലമനസ്സിനെ ചൂഷണം ചെയ്യുവാന്‍ ഏതു ബൈബിള്‍ പ്രചാരണ കൊട്ടിഘോഷകര്‍ക്കും എളുപ്പമാണ്.
അറിവിലും വിശ്വാസത്തിലും കത്തോലിക്കാസഭ പരസ്പരവിരുദ്ധമായി പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. നരകം, ശുദ്ധീകരണസ്ഥലം കുമ്പസാരം കുര്‍ബാന ഞായറാഴ്ച കുര്‍ബാന എന്നിവകളൊക്കെ ആഗോളസഭകളില്‍ നിന്നും വിത്യാസമായിട്ടാണ് സീറോമലബാര്‍ രൂപതയിലെ മെത്രാന്മാരുടെ വിശ്വാസങ്ങള്‍. വിശ്വാസികള്‍ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്‌താല്‍ അവര്‍ പാപികളാകും. 'അരചനെ കെടുത്തി ഒരു വാക്ക് ചൊല്ലീട' എന്നാണു ഈ ജോക്കര്‍രാജാകന്മാരായ മെത്രാന്മാരുടെ വിചാരം. ചെടുത്തിമാരുടെ പണംകണ്ടാല്‍ കപ്യാരുതൊട്ടു മെത്രാന്‍വരെ മയങ്ങും. അച്ചന്മാരെ ഭയന്ന് ഗര്‍ഭനിരോധന ഗുളികകളും കഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ടാണ് അവര്‍ കുര്‍ബാന കൈകൊള്ളുന്നത്‌. അവര്‍ക്ക് അത് പാപമല്ല. എന്നാല്‍ മാര്‍ഗം കൂടിയ മറിയ പത്തു പിള്ളേരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയില്ലെങ്കില്‍ പാപം. സഭയെ വിമര്‍ശിച്ചാല്‍ പാപമാകും. ഒരു പരീക്ഷാചോദ്യപേപ്പറില്‍ സഭയെപ്പറ്റി തെറ്റായി അമ്പത് ഉത്തരങ്ങള്‍ എഴുതിയാല്‍ പാപമാകുമോ? വി. ജോണ്‍ പതിനാറാം അദ്ധ്യായത്തില്‍ പതിമൂന്നു വാക്യത്തില്‍ ‘പരിശുദ്ധആത്മാവ് സത്യത്തിലേക്ക് നയിക്കും നിന്നെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന്’ പറയുമ്പോള്‍ മെത്രാനും ശിങ്കിടികളും സമ്മതിച്ചുതരുമോ? അല്ലാ, പരിശുദ്ധആത്മാവ് പോപ്പിന്‍റെ തെറ്റാവരമെന്നു ഇക്കൂട്ടര്‍ പറയും. സ്വര്‍ഗം കത്തോലിക്കര്‍ക്ക് മാത്രംപോലും. ക്രിസ്തുദേവനെപ്പോലെ ജീവിച്ച ഗാന്ധിജിയും സാമൂഹ്യവിപ്ലവകാരിയായ ടോള്‍സ്ടോയും ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവായ മതവിരോധി ഐന്‍സ്ട്ടീനും നരകത്തില്‍ കിടക്കുമ്പോള്‍ സ്വര്‍ഗഭൂമി സീറോകത്തനാന്മാര്‍ക്കും കുട്ടിമനസുകളെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു ലൈഗികകേളി നടത്തിയവര്‍ക്കും. അമേരിക്കയിലെ സീറോവൈദികര്‍ക്കും വിശ്വാസികള്‍ക്കും സ്വര്‍ഗത്തില്‍ പ്രത്യേകം എയര്‍കണ്ടീഷന്‍ ചെയ്ത മുറികളുണ്ടെന്നുള്ള അറിയിപ്പുമായി അമേരിക്കയിലേക്ക് വരുന്ന പവ്വത്ത്തിരുമേനി ഒരു ഇടയ ലേഖനം തയാറാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പണ്ട് ശുദ്ധീകരണസ്ഥലം വിറ്റു മാര്‍പാപ്പ വത്തിക്കാന്‍ കൊട്ടാരം പണിതില്ലേ.
ക്രുസ്തുവില്‍ വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവരെ ഇവര്‍ പാപികള്‍ എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നു. ക്രിസ്തുവിനെപ്പറ്റി അഗാധമായി പഠിച്ച ഡോക്ടര്‍ രാധാക്രുഷണനും സ്വാമി വിവേകാനന്ദനും മറ്റും മാര്‍പ്പാപ്പമാരെക്കാള്‍ കൂടുതലും ദൈവശാസ്ത്രമറിയാമെങ്കിലും അവരും പാപികള്‍തന്നെ. ആരെയും ഈ മഹാന്മാര്‍ കൊന്നിട്ടില്ല, മോഷ്ടിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. അവരെ പാപികളെന്നു വിളിക്കുവാന്‍ എന്തവകാശമാണ്‌ തെറ്റാവരത്തിനുള്ളത്. ശുദ്ധീകരണസ്ഥലം, കുര്‍ബാനയെ ദൈവരക്തമാക്കുക, കൊന്തചെല്ലല്‍ ഒന്നും പണ്ട് സഭയില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതല്ല. അന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്ന സഭയിലെ അജ്ഞാതരായ പുര്‍വികര്‍ഒക്കെ നിത്യനരകത്തിലോ? പുരോഹിതരുടെയും അന്ധവിശ്വാസികളുടെയും കൂടായ കത്തോലിക്കാ വിശ്വാസികള്‍ കൂട്ടത്തോടെ മറ്റു മതങ്ങളിലേക്ക് പരിവര്‍ത്തനം ചെയ്യുന്നത് കണ്ടിട്ടും രാജകുപ്പായങ്ങള്‍ അണിഞ്ഞു അരമനകളിലും പള്ളിമേടകളിലും തീറ്റിതിന്നു വസിക്കുന്ന ഈ മഹാപുരോഹിതര്‍ എന്തേ കണ്ണ് തുറക്കാത്തത്?
