Some time ago (in 2011 May) a Malayalee priest stationed in Namibia received Bilathi Malayalee, an electronic publication I bring out and distribute free of cost to expatriate Malayalees. The guy became furious about some article or remark in the publication and decided to tell me his mind. It resulted in some interesting communication.

Greetings from Namibia. Are your publishing this Bilathi Malayalee only for Catholic or Christians at large? I am fed up with your cheap writings. It is much cheaper than Pulikunnen’s Hosana. If you have a hidden agenda to attack the Catholic Church you do it some other way. Is your family and your personal life free from all faults? When you have mountains of problems within your own family and in your work place how you dare to correct a large family the church. It is easy to criticise. How sincere are your publications?

Since you decided to take time off your busy schedule to write to me, I think you deserve a detailed reply from me.
The tone of your mail gave you out and I knew you are a priest. Not that it matters to me.
You are fed up!
In every mail I send, I mention, “Please mail us if you do not wish to receive Bilathi Malayalee.” You could have told me earlier to stop sending the publication to you.
That, unfortunately, will not cure you from being fed up. It comes from some sort of frustration and I have no cure for it. You are not the first one to get fed up with the truth.
When, centuries ago a carpenter boy said,
"How terrible it will be for you, Scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door to the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. You don't go in yourselves, and you don't allow those who are trying to enter to go in”
and clergy of those days thought it was cheap talk and they too got fed up. I am therefore not surprised that you found Hosana’s and Bilathi’s content nauseating.
Your brethren, when they get fed up with truth, chase altar boys, for entertainment.
I have no hidden agenda. With missionary zeal, I expose the corruption in a group of criminals who pretend they are the moral guides of the universe.
“How you dare to correct a large family the church?”
I pardon you for the audacious tone of that question.
Dear Varghese, how did it become such a large family? It all started with one illiterate guy and a handful of fishermen. But they could do more for the world than your large family of obnoxious vipers.

Luckily for me (and unfortunately for you), you don’t have the authority to tell me what I should do. Centuries ago, I could have been burnt alive for heresy. You are forgetting that times have changed. Wake up to the reality.
“How sincere are your publications?”
Before I sign off, let me try to answer this question of yours. Yes, my publications are sincere. At least more sincere than the whole Catholic Church put together.

വര്‍ഗീസ്‌അച്ചന്‍ പാവമാണ്. സഭയെ ആത്മാര്‍ഥമായി സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന നല്ല ഒരു പുരോഹിതന്‍. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് അദ്ദേഹം കുപിതനായത്. കുഞ്ഞായിരുന്നപ്പോള്‍ സെമിനാരിയില്‍ പോയി. ചില മുതുക്കനച്ചന്മാര്‍ പറയുന്നത് വേദവാക്യം. വണക്ക മാസത്തിലെ മുപ്പത്തിമൂന്നു നുണകള്‍ നെരാണെന്നു വിശ്വസിച്ചു. കഴുത്തേല്‍ ഉള്ള വെന്തിങ്ങായില്‍ വെടിയുണ്ട തട്ടി ഭക്തന്‍ രക്ഷപ്പെട്ട കഥയൊക്കെ വണക്കമാസത്തില്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഒരിക്കല്‍,സത്യമാണെന്ന് വിചാരിച്ചു ഞാനുംനിഷ്കളങ്കനായ ഈ അച്ചനെപ്പോലെയായിരുന്നു.
ReplyDeleteപുലിക്കുന്നനും ബിലാത്തികളും അല്‍മായശബ്ദക്കാ രും വായില്‍ തോന്നുന്നത് എടുത്തടിച്ചു പറയുന്നവര്‍. വിലകുറഞ്ഞ ഇവരൊക്കെ ചത്താല്‍ പള്ളിക്ക് പുറത്തടക്കുവാന്‍ ഇപ്പോഴും അച്ചന്‍റെ കൈവശം ആ വജ്രായുധം ഉണ്ട്. ബുദ്ധിജീവിയായ എം.പി. പോളിനെ മഹരോണ്‍ ചെല്ലി പള്ളിയില്‍അടക്കാത്ത കാനോന്‍നിയമമെന്ന വേദപുസ്തകം കൈവശമില്ലേ? പോള്‍ തലതിരിയുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് എഴുതിയ ദൈവശാസ്ത്രം ഇന്നും സെമിനാരി പഠനത്തിനുണ്ടെന്നു അച്ചനു അറിയാമോ? പോള്‍ മിതവാദിയായ ഒരു ബുദ്ധി രാക്ഷസനായിരുന്നു. അതിനെക്കാളും ചങ്കൂറ്റത്തോടെ സ്വാമിയച്ചന്‍ താഴത്ത് മൂപ്പന് തലവേദന ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു വെന്നു അറിയാമോ.അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ മുന്‍ ഗാമിയാണ് പോള്‍ എന്ന മഹാനെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ കുടുമ്പത്തെയും അപമാനിച്ചത്.
കത്തോലിക്കാ സമുദായത്തെ നന്നാക്കുവാന്‍ കഴിയുകയില്ലെന്ന് അറിയാം. കാണാതായ ഒരാടിനെ എങ്കിലും രക്ഷിച്ചാല്‍ നേട്ടമല്ലേ? അച്ചന്‍റെ ചില കൂട്ടുകാര്‍ ചെയ്യുന്ന വൃത്തികേടുകള്‍ സഭയെ ഒന്നാകെ നാറ്റിച്ചു. ഞങ്ങളുടെ തൊലി ഉരിഞ്ഞു പോവുന്നതു കൊണ്ടാണ് പ്രതികരിക്കുന്നത്. വൈദികരുടെ വിലയാണ് ഇന്ന് ഇടിഞ്ഞത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ അഭിമാനം വീണ്ടു കിട്ടിയാല്‍ ഏറ്റവും അധികം സന്തോഷ്ക്കുന്നത് അലക്സിനെപ്പോലെയുള്ള തലതിരിഞ്ഞ ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികള്‍ ആയിരിക്കും. ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിയെന്ന പദത്തില്‍ അച്ചനു അഭിപ്രായ വിത്യാസം കാണും. ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിയുടെ കാതലായ തത്വം ആദിയില്‍ വചനമായിരുന്നു വചനം ദൈവവുമെന്നു അച്ചനു അറിയാമോ.
അല്ലാതെ വചനം അച്ചനല്ല.
Church Act, Womens Code ഒക്കെ പാസ്സാക്കുവാന്‍ അച്ചനും വൈദിക ലോകത്ത് വിപ്ലവം ഉണ്ടാക്കാം. ഒരു മാര്‍പാപ്പയും അച്ചനെ മുടക്കുകയില്ല. സഭയ്ക്ക് മാത്രമല്ല സമുദായത്തിനുകൂടി ഒരു നല്ല വൈദികന്‍ സേവനം ചെയ്യണം. ഇതില്‍ പ്രതികരിക്കുന്നവര്‍ അല്ല വില കുറഞ്ഞവര്‍. അച്ചനേപ്പോലെ പ്രതികരിക്കാതെ ഒരു കരണത്തടിച്ചാല്‍ മറ്റേകാരണം കാണിക്കുന്നവര്‍ ആണ്. അച്ചന്‍റെ മസില്‍ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പേരില്‍ അല്ല കാണിക്കേണ്ടത്. ചില കട്ടുകുടിക്കുന്ന കള്ളന്മാര്‍ അച്ചന്‍റെ മുറിക്കകത്തു തന്നെ പാത്തിരുപ്പുണ്ട്. ആരുമറിയാതെ ഞങ്ങളെ അറിയിച്ചാല്‍ വേണ്ട വിധം കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളാം.
